With the support of The North Face, Paradox Sports will be hosting an community climbing program for facilitators, and adaptive athletes. This program is designed to further develop technical skills and build self-sufficient rock climbers with an emphasis on Adaptive recreation skills for climbing.
Participants should have basic climbing skills and be looking to take the next step in their development of the sport. The focus of the weekend will be anchor building, and single pitch top roping with a focus on adaptive sports etiquette and climbing systems.
Pre-requisite skills can be learned on any Higher Ground Climbing program (Ice program 2020, and Rock Program 2020, etc.), or an introductory course course at a climbing facility. We recommend an immersive HG climbing program or at least 6 months of prior climbing experience for the best experience on this program.
Group size will be limited to 10 total in order to stay within the guidelines of the Paradox Sports Covid-19 Health and Safety plan. Two Paradox Guides will accompany a group of 8 community members and support staff through the weekend. The course will be held at an outdoor climbing area. Participants are responsible for their own lodging and food. Participants should prepare for all weather conditions and clothing should be suitable for on-the-wall learning.
